ALAC Guidelines - AVAILABLE HEREEvents

The U15 squad athletes who will compete in the Multi Event Competition have already been selected from the recent State Multi Event Championships held in Shepparton. These 8 athletes will now vie for the 4 Team positions available and will be selected on:

Monday 21 March 2011.

The U13 athletes are currently being monitored by our selectors with performances at the

comprising of 22 athletes, being selected following allocated training sessions.

The selectors are not required to consider only medal winners, and are able to select an

athlete for an event in which he or she did not compete in at the State Championships.

Winning one (or perhaps two) event(s) does not ensure selection.

Because of the above there is a bias against single event specialists who appear to have no obvious “second string” event. This does not mean that they will not be selected, but it

does mean that their opportunities are more limited.

The initial squad will be chosen on:

Monday 21st March by 9.00pm. Athletes chosen will be contacted by telephone on this night to confirm acceptance into the state squad and availability to attend allocated training sessions. If the athlete can not commit to these sessions, then consideration will be given to the next best athlete who may be available.

Athletes who think they may be selected are encouraged to have their phone that was
